The Texas Wildlife Center (formerly known as Wildlife Rehab & Education Wildlife Center) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and release of injured, sick, injured, or orphaned native wild animals. They offer sponsored and unpaid internship opportunities.

ExxonMobil also offers sponsored internships through the Summer Community Jobs Program. However, this position is not guaranteed as they must apply every year to be granted funding. Interns will work alongside TCA's experienced conservation professionals and live on the front lines of saving wildlife and their habitats in the state. They will participate in wildlife admissions and help the public solve their wildlife-related problems. Interns will also have the opportunity to create a fundraiser on social media, create a campaign to adopt an animal, or experiment with their own personalized campaign to engage new communities in wildlife conservation work.

An internship at WCT provides the opportunity to gain practical experience working with many different species of wildlife and to learn skills such as handling techniques, cleaning and sterilization procedures, habitat enrichment, diets, food preparation and feeding techniques, and to help experienced wildlife rehabilitation personnel with treatment procedures. The foundation of wildlife medicine is based on a deep knowledge of supportive wildlife care.
